Too Those Still Waiting…

November 19th, 2009

For all those people still awaiting projects to be started, I just want to apologise again for the long delay.

Currently in the works (pictures incoming) are a Space Marine Force Commander (like the Codex artwork), a Badab era Huron Blackheart.

Next up will be 2 Salamanders characters and a counts as Lysander in Templar iconography, 3 Red Scorpion characters, a Mark 2 Marine and the remaining squads for an entire army to see to.

I have a long waiting list of potential commissions after that, so if you have contacted me in the last few months I will be getting back to you in not too distant future.

Finished Terminator Squad!

November 19th, 2009

At long last, put some effort in this week and finished off the Terminator Squad I’ve been working on for the last month or so.

The client had requested 6 Terminators in Actual Scale with a variety of armaments to be magnetized. There are 6 Storm Bolters, 4 Power Fists, 1 Chainfist, 1 Power Sword, 1 Assault Cannon, 1 Heavy Flamer, 1 Cyclone Missile Launcher, 4 pairs of Lightning Claws, 6 Thunder Hammers and 6 Storm Shields. In all I used 96 magnets in the squad, with each shoulder pad being magnetized also, so that only the arms are swapped out. The positioning of the magnets proved very tricky, but the results are well worth it.

Because the clients chapter has a lion theme to it, I added a lion head and mane as a trophy on the sergeant and sculpted a lion emblem on the chest of one of the squad members. There may be a few changes as I still need the clients approval, but otherwise the squad is finished.

Completed Project

The Tutorial.

November 13th, 2009

I’ve been promising a tutorial on my method for creating an Actual Scale Space Marine for a very long time.

Well, version 1.0 of How to Make an Actual Scale Space Marine is here.

I’ve most likely left out huge chunks and forgotten a lot of stuff that should have been in there but it’s still a pretty massive guide. Somewhere in the region of 80 photos (and a lot less text). Feedback on this is very welcome, as this will be the first of a series of tutorials, and I like to know where I’ve gone wrong.

FOR SALE!

November 8th, 2009

I don’t normally like to post updates without pics, but I’m still putting the finishing touches to the tutorial (hopefully tomorrow). In the meantime, I thought I’d let you all know I’m going to add a “For Sale” section to the website, in a bid to have a clear out.

I’ve been a GW hobbyist for about 20 years now, and like most of the other fanatics that are involved in the hobby I have boxes and boxes of stuff. Most of my armies over the years have been traded or sold, so don’t be expecting to see the really old ultra-rare stuff (I’d probably keep that anyway :D ). I do however have a ton of Ork stuff, for the army I want but have to admit to myself I’ll never get around to completing, a bit of Space Marine stuff that I know I won’t be using for my “scaled-up” armies, as well as random and fantasy models.

What I have will vary from still on sprue to the ready to game with. I could have gone and put all of it on eBay, but the charges there have gotten just a little too high. So, I’ve got a website and a few visitors (I hope), so why not use it. I think I’ll keep it simple, and ask what I think is a fair price. First come first serve. Shipping will be free to people in the UK or £5 to anywhere else.

    Trading

If I’m after anything that I’d be willing to take as a trade rather than money, I’ll post it at the top of the “For Sale” page.

It’s probably about time I did something with this, it’d be nice to have a huge spread of thumbnails for every photo on the site. I’ll look into sorting this out over the next few weeks.

More of the Terminators…

November 3rd, 2009

I haven’t devoted much time to these, but I’m giving myself 2 more days to finish this squad. Here’s the progress so far, pictured with my own unfinished Bane-Raider. I think they look pretty cool. The sergeant carries a power maul (I ran out of sergeant power sword arms), though I may swap it out depending on the client’s wishes.

I’ve been putting some time into the long awaited tutorial, which will be finished soon. A little later I’ll also be putting together a tutorial for these Terminators.
