The Tyrant of Badab

January 9th, 2010

Here’s the big man himself.

I forgot to take size comparison photos again, but you can kinda see how big he is just based on the fact he’s on a 40mm base. The cloak looks a lot worse than it does in the flesh. I’m fairly pleased with how the Hamadrya turned out, a little larger than I wanted but the positioning and pose are spot on how I wanted him. The plastic torso on the Hamadrya came from a Warhammer Zombie for those who are wondering.

Overall I’m most pleased with Huron’s Power Fist. I’ll definitely be attempting to better it in future, but it’s a nice start.

EDIT: Here’s the scale comparison with good old Lamenter Bob.

    Wow! Once again, I am humbled by your work! The detail on this is incredible, I would kill to be able to sculpt like you.

    @Simmo
    Thanks, but I’ve a long way to go yet. :-)

    I love this model, especially the head, just looks great.
    What thickness plasticard did you use for the fingers of the powerfist and have you ever used procreate?
    All in all though, fantastic.
    Tyruin out.

    Excellent work all around. I just spent an hour going over all of your work. Thanks for making a website where we can all follow your progress.

    @Tyruin son of ages

    Thanks. The fingers were made from 2mm thick plasticard sheet, whittled down into the right shape and glued together. Takes a while to get right, but quite rewarding in the end. I’ve used Procreate a few times, but right now I’m more comfortable with Greenstuff, probably because I’m more used to it. I’m going to try my hand at Fimo for a future project (the stuff you have to bake to harden). Allows a lot more time to work with and is generally more workable I think.
