Chaplain Durendin (nearly ready to paint)
Durendin’s about 99% done. It’ll be a while before I paint him because of other work, but it’s nice to see him realized. I had a lot of trouble finalizing his pose, but eventually settled on a crozius resting at his side rather than the usual held aloft pose common to all Chaplains. It helps give an impression of weight to his mighty hammer, but also allows the fitting of the shoulder pad to look far less awkward. Although this model has 9 pins holding him together, there are elements that are definitely fragile (the iron halo for example) but there’s not much I can do to improve that. Guess I better not drop him.

Phhhit! That is all.
No seriously dude, it took me a minute to figure out just what it was, but the iron halo on his helmet makes him look amazing.
Definitely approve!
That, and all the rest of him too… it all looks immense! Just to make sure you didn’t misunderstand me xD
I adore this mini!
I would never have figured to use a chaos terminator shoulder pad for a loyalist-things like this tend to escape me…
The etching used on the hammer makes me want to buy one
The backpack…it seems to be lacking in comparison to the rest, but it is fantastic none the less.
The left shoulderpad looks to have something sculpted on it, could you take a pic of it?
Keep up the wo+rk!

Thanks.
I’ll be replacing the backpack before I come to paint him. Something more suitable for a Chaplain.
The shoulder pad has the Grey Knight chapter badge (sword & book) on it. I’ll get more pics when I paint him up.
Holy moly. This is awesome. I really need to finish my Ravenor omnibus so I can start the Grey Knights books. Why have I not seen this before? You’re going on my blogroll where I can keep an eye on you!
Thanks man. I’m just finishing the GK trilogy myself. It’s a pretty good read I’d say. I’ll be keeping my eye on your work too, you don’t see many Titan Legions in 40K
