Finished Chest Eagle

February 23rd, 2010

Just a quickie update.

Completed Project ,

  • Yeah, it was done in three separate layers starting with the outer most ones first. Essentially rolled out a thin sausage of GS, gently pressed it onto the right place, flattened it out and trimmed away excess putty. I always use apply more than I need and trim away excess rather than have to apply more and struggle to blend in the the two pieces.

I think you've got a point about the top edge, unfortunately I'd sculpted it a little big and didn't have a lot of room left :-/

We live and learn I guess.

The finished sculpt looks good. Are you planning on adding the very top "edge" to the wings like you did on the chaplain model. I only ask as that is the style most of us are used to seeing. The way you have them the feathers don't seem to "sprout" from anywhere, they lack a defining top border.

How did you go about making the feathers for the wings? Did you do each one individually or rather three layers of GS that you then sculpted the detail out of?
